3D Rendering Of Proposed Development
As the pre-design phase finalised, we concentrated on setting up some crucial parametric criteria. The environmental strategies adopted for this project strongly influenced both the architectural response and the choice and configuration of HVAC systems.

Design objectives include passive (bioclimatic) strategies, efficient HVAC engineering options and integration of renewable energies. To benefit the overall buildings’ consumption and to create a semi buffer zone we analysed the public open space atmosphere and the possibilities to temper this zone.

Some specific systems were introduced as well:

> The use of a climate-responsive roof system that provides passive cooling for the top floors space.
> Wind harvesting scoops that reduce fan power associated with the fresh air inlets.
> Pilings and boreholes reduce cooling loads and consumption during the summer period.
> Ground-linked air tempering pipe meshes circulate tempered air, pumped through ground heat exchanger and can be used to improve the atrium’s microclimate.
> Heat recovery to be used between retails, hotel and offices.
