A development of 8 light workshop / commercial units with a double storey office block attached at the south end.

The development is by Huntingdon Borough Council to promote enterprise in the area. ZEF was appointed to provide a full sustainable framework and MEP design service for the project.

The workshops have green roofs installed to reduce the ‘heat island’ effect of the development and preserve ecology in the area. Individual air source heat pumps with integral energy recovery ventilation are to be installed for each unit and the office block.

‘Dynamic insulation’ is installed to the external walls and roof to reduce heat loss through the fabric and to recover the heat that would have been lost to the external for warming fresh air induced through the insulation and into the building.

The development also has a rainwater harvesting system to conserve water use.
